1. RefNinja — DOI

RefNinja™ allows you to generate citations for a given DOI or a list of DOIs (each entered on a new line). You can select from various citation formats, including APA APA 7 MLA Vancouver IEEE Harvard bibitem RIS and BibTeX.

Supported citation formats:

APA

The American Psychological Association format is commonly used in the social sciences. It includes the author's last name, initials, year of publication in parentheses, title in sentence case, and publication details. The DOI is included as a URL if available.

APA 7

The 7th edition introduces stricter rules for author listings (up to 20 authors before 'et al.'). It emphasizes DOIs as URLs and provides guidelines for online sources and e-books.

Smith, J., Doe, A., Johnson, R., & Lee, M. (2020). The title of the paper. Journal Name, 10(2), 123–145. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1234/example.

MLA

The Modern Language Association format is widely used in the humanities. It lists the author's last name first, uses quotation marks for article titles, and italicises the journal name.

Vancouver

A numerical citation style used in medical and scientific publications. References are numbered in order of appearance and include abbreviated journal names.

IEEE

Used for technical and engineering publications. Includes author initials followed by last name, title in quotation marks, journal name in italics, volume, pages, year, and DOI.

J. Smith, A. Doe, and R. Brown, 'The Title of the Paper,' Journal Name, vol. 10, pp. 123–145, 2020. DOI: 10.1234/example.

Harvard

Used across multiple disciplines. Lists author's last name, initial(s), year in parentheses, title in single quotes, and publication details with italicised journal name.

BibTeX

A structured format for LaTeX bibliographies with fields such as author, title, journal, year, volume, and DOI.

RIS

A standardized tag-based format used for bibliographic software like EndNote and RefWorks. Each tag represents a specific field.

\bibitem

A format for LaTeX documents using the bibliography environment without BibTeX. Each entry starts with a \bibitem command.
